Questions about the New Registration Form
Q1. What is a league?
A1. Each time slot is a League or Draw.
Q2. If I want to curl 2 times per week can I curl in Senior Mens in both draws on Wednesday and a Mixed Draw?
A2. No. You could curl either both draws on Wednesday in Senior Mens or one Senior Mens and the Mixed. If you want to curl in all three draws, you must select 3 draws per week or the 4+ draws per week.
Q3. My Registration Form has all my information on it, do I need to fill it in again?
A3. You only need to fill in information that has changed or is incorrect.
Q4. Why are the fees going up again? They seem to go up every year!!
A4. Yes, for the last several years the fees have been going up in conjunction with the City annual increases. These increases will continue as long as the City increases their fees. Also, this year the Provincial Government has combined the PST and GST giving us the HST which has to be included in the fees.
Q5. Why do we have the different rates now?
A5. There are a couple of reasons:
1.We noticed, from our stats, that a lot of curlers only curled 2 or 3 times per week and had to pay the full members rate. In an effort to allow our members to pay for what they play instead of having to pay the full rate.
2.We hope to attract new members by giving them the same opportunity to pay for what there play.
Q6. How many draws can I curl if I am only curling for half a season?
A6. Half season is open, you can curl as many draws as you are eligible.
Senior Mens = 50+ years old
Day Ladies & Business Women = must be a woman.... lol
Mens = no wo in men... lol
Mixed = you don’t have to be a couple. The DrawMaster will mix and match.
Senior Mixed = has changed to just mixed in an effort to encourage more curler for this draw.
Q7. Sparing????
A7(a). Looking for a spare? Call the spare lists first! Then if you can not get an answer, then you can call anyone (that is a member of course, I don’t think Glen or Wayne can make it)
A7(b). Called to spare? Sparing is open. You can spare in any draw at any time. Because of issues with being able to find spares in the past, it is now open. The only thing we ask, is that you honour the ‘SPARES LIST’ for each draw. It has been mentioned that people on these lists are not being called.
More questions and answers will be posted as they come in, so check back often in case there is something you need an answer for!
